The University of Maryland Eastern Shore is very proud to offer courses in Sequential Arts and Visual Arts for students interested in comics storytelling and illustration design. UMES is the only school in the state of Maryland to offer a Sequential Arts curriculum (as well as the only HBCU to do so as well). Within this program, students will learn techniques of penciling, inking, digital coloring, and lettering, as well as experiencing all aspects of the field, from the initial creative spark to the final realization of printed work.
